Job Description

Remote is seeking a Test Manager to join the team at ASD. The Test Manager will manage and operate the deployment of testing resources and testing approaches ensuring the quality of on-premises and off-premises cloud platform based solutions to realise ASD benefits from strategic technology investment. Role Description

Key duties and responsibilities:

ASD requires a Test Manager to manage and operate the deployment of testing resources and testing approaches ensuring the quality of on-premises and off-premises cloud platform based solutions to realise ASD benefits from strategic technology investment.

Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement, operate, manage, and maintain testing tools, technologies, processes, policies and procedures required for verification and validation of ICT solutions including commercial and private cloud solutions to support ASD’s goals and objectives for PROTECTED and OFFICIAL capabilities while also considering dependency and dependent systems and services.
  • Work with MCP Administrators and Engineers to Implement, operate, manage, and maintain testing tools, technologies, processes, policies and procedures required for verification and validation of cloud based, or cloud utilising, PROTECTED and OFFICIAL supporting solutions on and off prem.
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement of testing tools, technologies, processes, policies and procedures to consolidate, simplify, streamline, and improve quality outcomes for cloud based, or cloud utilising, internal and customer capability.
  • Incorporating risk management, security, quality, privacy and safety.
  • Maximising automation and solution maturity.
  • Focusing on mission, value and business needs.

Technical Skills:

  • Provides advice, guidance and expertise to promote adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards. Evaluates, selects, and implements appropriate methods and tools in line with agreed policies and standards. Manages reviews of the benefits and value of methods and tools. Identifies and recommends improvements.
  • Forms, maintains and leads workgroups and individuals to achieve ASD objectives. Determines and delegates objectives and task responsibilities to individuals. Sets the quality, performance and capability targets in line with organisational goals. Monitors performance and provides effective feedback to address individual issues. Plays an active role in formal organisational processes such recruitment and disciplinary procedures.
  • Maintains and provides definitive and expert advice. Oversees the provision of specialist advice by others. Consolidates expertise from multiple sources, including third-party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives.
  • Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned, and the collection and dissemination of relevant information. Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure testing effectiveness. Helps develop and enhance the customer and stakeholder experience.
  • Develops policies, standards, and guidelines for testing. Plans and leads strategic, large and complex testing activities. Leads activities to manage risks and opportunities associated with testing. Adapts or develops testing capabilities and methods to solve complex business and engineering problems in tools and testing. Promotes a culture of quality and drives adoption of and adherence to testing policies and standards.
