Job Description
Remote is seeking a System Administrator to join theteam in Home Affairs. The System Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, performance, and security of the containerisation platform. The successful candidate will have proven experience using Git for version control of source code files relating to the provisioning, configuration and maintenance of Linux systems and Kubernetes clusters. Role Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters, including installation, configuration, and upgrading
- Monitor cluster health and performance, and manage networking, storage, access controls, and security policies
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms, and leverage tools like Ansible to automate tasks
- Maintain the cluster's overall stability, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment of applications on Kubernetes
- Produce and maintain clear design, integration, and support documentation
- Support system operations compliance with relevant IT security standards (e.g. ISM, ACSC Essential 8 guidelines)
- Assist with seeking system accreditation and implementing necessary security controls.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum 3 year's system administrator experience
Desirable Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Kubernetes Administrator or in a similar role
- Proficiency in Linux system administration
- Strong scripting skills for automation
- Rancher experience
Required Knowledge/Experience and tools
- Proven experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code using Ansible Collections, Ansible Engine and Ansible Vault
- Proven experience using Git for version control of source code files relating to the provisioning, configuration and maintenance of Linux systems and Kubernetes clusters.
