Job Description

Remote is seeking an Application Tester to join the team in Home Affairs. The Application Tester will be performing software testing services for deployment and ongoing enhancement of mostly on-premise, Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products. These deployments may involve integration with existing COTS or bespoke systems. This work will sometimes be conducted as part of a broader software testing team, sometimes performed solo without additional resources. (RFI 29-2526)

Provide application testing support to:

  • Integration testing between different environments
  • Contribute to documenting the acceptance criteria in user stories
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with ICT and business stakeholders at various levels
  • An ability to create, understand and perform test activities such as test plan creation, test data creation and organising the creation of testing environments
  • Produce reporting artefacts including test summary reports and routine status updates on testing activities
  • An experience understanding across all software test levels (unit, system, integration and user acceptance)
  • An ability to manage individually allocated work packages and to balance competing priorities
  • Knowledge of test methodologies and the fundamental testing process across both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies
  • Be able to identify and record discrepancies between actual and expected testing results.

Required Knowledge/Experience and tools

Required: Experience conducting software testing activities and producing relevant artefacts

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience with Jira
  • IT-related degree (e.g. Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of ID
  • ISTQB Foundation testing qualification.
