Job Description

Remote is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support Intelligence Capability Integration (ICI) Branch within the Department of Defence. The Project Manager will lead a team responsible for revalidating Defence’s Counter Intelligence needs, requirements related to emerging Defence capabilities, and threat levels to inform capability requirements. The project team will also undertake risk reduction activities. The Project Manager will be required to have experience in supporting project activities or capabilities through the ODCS. Role Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Project Planning and Management: Support Commonwealth staff in overarching project management activities. Conduct project planning to develop a capability proposal for Government consideration in line with the One Defence Capability System (ODCS). Identify opportunities for early delivery of the capability and obstacles that may prevent capability delivery. Manage project scheduling and report to the task manager on a monthly basis via face-to-face meetings or monthly reports.
  • Capability Development: Lead the development of ODCS capability development artefacts to support government project submissions. Revalidate Defence's CI needs and requirements related to emerging Defence capabilities and threat levels. Undertake risk reduction activities to ensure the project's success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders across Defence, the National Intelligence Community (NIC), and the FVEY community. Provide tailored presentations and Defence briefs to stakeholders and senior leadership as directed.

Criteria:

  • 8+ year experience in Project Management (preferably within the NIC)
  • Capability management experience and ability to prepare a capability proposal for Commonwealth consideration (preferred).
  • Familiarity with requirements of Defence Capability Management and ability to prepare documents in support of the project’s progression in accordance with the Defence Capability Manual.
  • Background in Intelligence (preferred)
