Job Description
Remote is seeking a Linux System Admin System Administrator to join the team in ASD. The Linux System Admin System Administrator will manage and deliver performance outcomes in line with strategic commitments. The successful candidate will lead or assist system administrator activities supporting the Linux and core services in the High Performance Computing environment and provision and configure servers using life cycle system tools and/or self-documenting Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies. Role Description
Key duties and responsibilities
- Lead or assist system administrator activities supporting the Linux and core services in the High Performance Computing environment.
- Provision and configure servers using life cycle system tools and/or self-documenting Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies
- Write system support and security documentation.
- Work cohesively and communicate effectively with High Performance Computing Infrastructure project, technical and engineering staff, and stakeholder groups.
- Ensure required controls and accounting of systems adheres to best practices, with a view to maintaining system integrity and performance.
Essential criteria
- At least 4 years’ experience in Medium-Large Enterprise or Government Linux System Administration roles.
- Demonstrated system administration experience with Linux Operating Systems for example: Red Hat, Rocky, Suse.
- Demonstrated experience with high performance storage systems for example: NAS, Object, On-premise cloud, Parallel file systems.
- Thorough understanding of Networking technologies and topologies, particularly those utilised in HPC and related systems.
- Demonstrated capability to install and decommission HPC and related systems, hardware components.
Desirable criteria
- Experience contributing to complex technical project outcomes for Medium-Large Enterprise or agencies
- Demonstrated experience with a continuous integration tools for example: GitLab or Jenkins
- Demonstrated experience with configuration management tools for example: Ansible, Puppet or Salt
- Demonstrated experience with Foreman or equivalent administration systems
