Job Description
Remote is seeking multiple Junior Project Support Officers to support the Department of Home Affairs. The Junior Project Officers will report to a Project Manager, supporting the delivery of ICT projects. Success in this role requires coordination skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and stakeholder engagement. (RFI 33-2526)
Role Description
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Project Manager in delivering ICT project outcomes, focusing on implementation in partnership with internal and external delivery providers.
- Support the coordination of project activities, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, cost management, task management, and status reporting.
- Support procurement activities to support project requirements.
- Support the development and maintenance of high-quality project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
- Support stakeholder engagement and communication, including preparing project updates and responding to stakeholder inquiries.
- Assist in the coordination of project meetings, workshops, and other events.
- Support the Project Manager in identifying and mitigating project risks and issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and files.
Skills:
- PROF 3: Provides foundational support for projects, programmes, or portfolios. Assists with planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting using established tools and processes. Follows recommended solutions to ensure accurate documentation and communication of project progress. Collaborates closely with project teams and stakeholders, gathering updates and information to maintain project records and ensure alignment with project objectives. Participates in project boards, assurance teams and quality review meetings when necessary.
- METL 3: Configure and maintain tools, creating and updating documentation, resolving basic tool-related issues, and providing support for existing methods.
- FMIT 3: Apply standard methods and procedures to manage financial resources, perform varied and sometimes complex tasks under general direction.
Desirable qualifications:
- Prince2 Foundation Certification.
Required knowledge/experience and tools:
- Project-related experience and/or Project Officer role (essential).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and practices, such as Prince2 and PMBOK, and ability to assist in their application in a project setting (desirable).
- Proficiency using project management tools (desirable).
