Job Description
The Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet requires a variety of technical business analysts for a major ICT Modernisation program. Successful candidates will work closely with the program business architect, project teams and stakeholders to develop in-depth understanding of business processes, technical infrastructure, technical services, and development of a strategic roadmap. Role Description
Key duties and responsibilities
- Lead business and system analysis activities for a complex ICT uplift program, ensuring alignment with agency objectives.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitating workshops and leading discussions to gather business requirements.
- Develop process maps, data models, and use cases to provide a clear representation of business operations.
- Provide strategic advice and solutions to program and project managers, and leadership teams.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Contribute to the overall project objectives and specific team deliverables.
Essential criteria
- Demonstrated experience in analysis and modelling of current and future business processes and information management environments, including analysis of data related requirements, user pathways and information flows.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating and leading workshops and developing business scenarios, process maps, data models and use cases.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate risks, identify solutions, overcome challenges and the ability to think strategically and align with business objectives.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment.
Desirable criteria
- Experience with major ICT Modernisation projects or programs in a federal government setting.
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in a federal government setting.
- Experience with any of the following in a federal government setting: ICT infrastructure; application, data or data migration projects; cyber security projects, and familiarity with federal government cyber requirements such as the Essential 8, PSPF, ISM.
