Job Description
Remote is seeking a Product Manager to join the team in Home Affairs. As a Product Manager you will have a deep understanding of our customers’ and will be responsible for ensuring that our product meets their needs and expectations. You will navigate complex stakeholder relationships, comply with regulations and laws, and work in a transparent and accountable environment. You will be concerned with the product’s long-term success and viability, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the product meets both customer needs and business goals. You will also have to be creative and resourceful in finding ways to modernise and innovate legacy systems. The role sits within the Product Delivery Directorate which is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality Products that meet customer needs. (RFI 28-2425)
Role Description
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with business goals and customer needs
- Lead cross-functional teams to define and deliver product features and priorities
- Prioritise resources to meet product goals, including allocating budget, personnel, and technology resources
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer needs and market trends, and to gather input and feedback on product plans
- Work with development teams to ensure that product requirements are properly understood and implemented
- Monitor product performance and make recommendations for improvements.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Professional certification in Product Management or aligned roles. For example: Certified Product Manager (CPM) by AIPMM or Product Manager Certification (PMC) by Product School or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO 1)
Required Knowledge/Experience and tools
- 3+ years of relevant Product Management experience
- Ability to create product roadmaps, define product vision, and align product strategy with business goals and customer needs
- Ability to effectively prioritise tasks and features based on value and impact
- Ability to manage and prioritise the product backlog effectively
- Demonstrated understanding of the technical aspects of product development, including software development, software architecture and infrastructure
Highly Desirable:
- Proficiency in working with a range of Product Management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, or similar for product planning and collaboration)
- Familiarity with government processes, policies, and regulatory requirements
