Job Description

Remote is seeking Senior Project Officers to join the team at ASD. The Project Officers will support the operations of a project, program or portfolio office and contribute to the effective delivery of project activities.

The role will involve coordinating project documentation, supporting planning and scheduling activities, maintaining financial records, and applying relevant legislation, policies and plans to program support tasks. The Project Officer will also liaise with internal and external stakeholders, provide advice on capability and proposals, and manage competing priorities to support business objectives. (LH-06925)

Role Description

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with project support tasks including the administration and coordination of project and/or program documentation. 
  • Accountable to contribute to the ongoing application of project and/or program planning and scheduling. 
  • Apply knowledge and experience of legislation, policies, strategies and team plans to program support work. 
  • Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative matters. 
  • Take initiative in prioritising work and taskings to meet business objectives. 
  • Evaluate and provide advice on capability or proposals. 
  • Maintain project financial records under direction of Project Manager. 

Technical skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a PSO or similar role.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, e.g. Agile, SAFe
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 and other software applications.

Essential criteria

  • Measurement Level 4 (SFIA): Identifies and prioritises appropriate measures, scales, and targets. Supports projects, functions or teams in the development of measurement methods. Specifies base and derived measures which support agreed information needs. Specifies how to collect and store the data for each required measure. Provides guidance on collection of data. Designs reports and reporting formats.
  • Methods and tools Level 3 (SFIA): Provides support on the use of existing methods and tools. Configures methods and tools within a known context. Creates and updates the documentation of methods and tools.
  • Quality management Level 4 (SFIA): Assists in the development of new or improved practices and organisational processes or standards. Assists projects, functions or teams in planning the quality management for their area of responsibility. Facilitates localised improvements to the quality system or services.
