Job Description

Remote is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to join the team in the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation. The Senior Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end technology solutions that support business requirements. This role ensures that applications, systems, and infrastructure are integrated, secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise IT strategy. The architect will closely work with the Project Manager to manage the expectations of the business stakeholders, development teams, and IT operations. The role requires to work across the entire development lifecycle, from planning to deployment and support. The program of work has multiple projects, which range in size. The successful candidate will be required to work across all of these projects. (RFx28864)

Role Description

Major requirements/responsibilities for the role include:

  • Design end-to-end ICT solutions (applications, infrastructure, networks, cloud systems).
  • Develop architecture frameworks, models, and standards.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and business strategy.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and documentation.
  • Analyse business requirements from stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership during project planning and execution.
  • Actively participate and contribute in the planning discussion with key stakeholders to valuate and recommend technologies, platforms, and vendors.
  • Guide development and engineering teams, ensures proper integration between systems (APIs, middleware, data flows).
  • Support Project Manager during the deployment, testing, and validation of solutions.
  • Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity standards and data protection regulations, Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work in a high security environment with sensitivity reticence and discretion.

 Other essential requirements include:

  • 5–10+ years of experience in IT/ICT roles, including architecture or solution design.
  • TOGAF
  • AWS/Azure Architect certifications
  • ITIL or similar framework
