Job Description
As a Business Analyst in the Australian Geospatial Organisation, you will support strategic planning cycles, requirements and solution definition/analysis and stakeholder engagement for the effective sustainment of a fit-for-purpose GEOINT mission system. The role works closely with product managers and various stakeholders to support informed decision‑making and ensure the mission system aligns to Business needs and broader strategic guidance, as well as key performance metrics. These roles will form part of the Product Management Office (PMO) within GEOINT Capability Operations. (RFx28547)
Role Description
Key role:
- Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organisation change.
- Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate business analysis methods, tools and techniques; selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
- Collaborates with stakeholders at all levels, in the conduct of investigations for strategy studies, business requirements specifications and feasibility studies.
- Prepares business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, and associated business risks.
Major Responsibilities:
- Takes responsibility to plan, manage and investigate business situation analysis where there is significant ambiguity and complexity.
- Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate business analysis methods, tools and techniques. Ensures holistic view adopted to identify and analyse wide-ranging problems and opportunities.
- Effectively engages and collaborates with a diverse range stakeholders, including at the management level. Gains agreement from stakeholders to conclusions and recommendations.
- Prepares business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, and associated business risks.
- Takes responsibility to work with less experienced business analysts to establish common practice in the delivery of business analysis services within the organisation.
