Job Description
Remote is seeking a Senior Systems Architect to join the team in the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO). The Systems Architect will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance for the design and evolution of a number of complex activities. The role includes analysing organisational capabilities, platforms and technical maturity to identify opportunities to shape architectures and roadmaps to meet business needs. The Systems Architect will work with both internal and external project stakeholders including users, business and technical project team members and decision makers to deliver architectural solutions that support complex ICT transformation efforts. The program of work has multiple projects, which range in size. The successful candidate will be required to work across all of these projects. (RFx28911)
Role Description
Major requirements/responsibilities include:
- Work with project managers, product owners, business analysts and senior customers on the design of integrated ICT solutions that support organisational outcomes within the constraints of a technology roadmap.
- Ensure solutions developed are in line with project architect guidance, Defence policy and the Information Security Manual (ISM) guidance.
- Lead the analysis of complex systems and apply engineering expertise to identify and recommend courses of action.
- Work closely with project teams to understand interfaces, business requirements and ensure that architectural designs meet their needs.
- Review and support development of detailed design documents and technical specifications to ensure that they adhere to architectural designs, standards and project requirements
- Escalate issues and seek advice from the Project Director and/or Project Manager or Engineering Manager in a timely manner.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders in documentation development.
- Resolve issues and or problems that arise during the course of capability development projects.
- Assist in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures, and working cohesively and flexibly with the broader project team, key business partners and stakeholder groups.
Other requirements/features of the role include:
- Ability to work in a high security environment with sensitivity reticence and discretion.
- The role is based in Canberra with minimal travel, if any.
