Job Description
Remote is seeking multiple Cloud Professional – Stream Leads to join the team at ASD. These roles will provide oversight and management across two workstreams within ASD’s Cloud Program, supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of cloud capability in a complex high-security environment.
The leads will bring extensive experience working across multiple NIC agencies, a strong background supporting secure systems, and a detailed understanding of cloud technologies. Working closely with internal teams, ASD stakeholders, other NIC agencies, commercial cloud providers, and external vendors, they will help drive the successful execution and delivery of the program. Role Description
Key duties and responsibilities
The Cloud Professional – Stream Leads will have the capability to consider the big picture and long-term goals of their workstream and the program, developing contingency plans that align with the project’s overall objectives.
The role requires demonstrated ability to:
- Manage complex Cloud project or program activities with Cloud providers in a classified space across multiple NIC agencies.
- Adapt to changing project circumstances and adjust plans accordingly, while still proactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
- Analyse complex information, identify potential risks and issues, and develop effective solutions and contingency plans.
- Lead and manage project teams, delegate tasks, and mentor team members to ensure risks and issues are effectively identified and addressed.
- Evaluate information and data to make informed decisions and to anticipate potential issues and risks before they arise.
- Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management to ensure all parties are aware of potential risks and issues and to collaborate on effective solutions.
- Managing a team of technical and non-technical resource (i.e. architects, engineers, assessors, security architects, project support and project management) with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of NIC agencies and commercial cloud providers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of Cloud program activities, ensuring that requirements, project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Developing and managing program plans, including project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
- Managing their workstreams to ensure that project goals are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks and issues, and developing contingency plans as needed.
- Communicating regularly with project stakeholders, including executive sponsors, project sponsors, and project team members, to ensure that all parties are informed of project status, risks, and issues.
- Developing and implementing agile season and sprint planning within Microsoft ADO and GovTEAMS.
- Collaborating with other teams within the Program to ensure that project requirements are met and that projects are aligned with broader Program goals and objectives.
- Communicating effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management to ensure all parties are aware of potential risks and issues and to collaborate on effective solutions.
- Ensuring that project documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date, and that project records are maintained in accordance with organizational standards.
- Developing and implementing of detailed cloud plans (e.g.. ATO plans, Technical Cloud Platform plans, Cloud program plans) and ensuring compliance in accordance with the industry standards for security and cloud (i.e. Australian government policies and regulations, such as Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)).
- Working closely with the Information Security teams to ensure that all necessary security requirements are met and documented in accordance with ISM and PSPF.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to build trust and ensure timely completion of their workstream’s Cloud milestones.
Essential Criteria
- Experience delivering large-scale Cloud projects in the Defence or intelligence government sector with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Professional certification or training in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analysis or a related field.
- Experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams, delegating tasks and mentoring team members to ensure risks and issues are effectively identified and addressed.
- Experience in leading/managing at least one of the following streams; Authority to Operate or Security or Cloud Program Management.
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian government information security policies, guidelines, and standards, including ISM and PSPF.
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in a delivery lead role.
