Senior Microsoft Power Apps Application Developer (PROJ-4667)
Job Description
Remote is seeking a Senior Power App Developer to join the team at the Bureau of Meteorology for a short term contract. The Power App Developer will be responsible for designing and delivering Microsoft Power Platform solutions to support FWIN business processes. The role involves developing Power Apps (canvas and model-driven) and implementing Dataverse as the primary data store, while creating Power Automate flows to enable data validation, workflow automation, and notifications. The developer leads the migration of existing SharePoint List data into Dataverse, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the process. They apply appropriate security roles, permissions, and governance controls, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to refine requirements and iteratively enhance solutions. The position also requires producing clear technical and operational documentation, including data models, solution design, application configuration, and support guidelines. Additionally, the developer delivers user training, knowledge transfer, and post-deployment hyper-care support, while leveraging strong communication, solution architecture, and troubleshooting skills to optimise performance across applications, workflows, and data connections within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Role Description
Key duties and responsibilities
The Power App Developer will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing Power Apps to support FWIN business processes
- Implementing Dataverse as the primary data store for FWIN records
- Designing and configuring Power Automate flows to support data validation, workflow automation, and notifications
- Migrating existing data from SharePoint Lists to Dataverse
- Ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the migration process
- Applying appropriate security roles, permissions, and governance controls
- Collaborating with business users to refine requirements and iterate solutions
- Producing clear technical and operational documentation, including:
o Data model and solution design
o Application configuration
o Support and maintenance requirements
- Delivering user training, knowledge transfer, and hyper-care support following deployment
Technical skills
- Experience developing Microsoft Power Apps canvas/model driven apps and Power Automate flows
- Consulting skills such as solution architecture design, and stakeholder management
- Experience implementing governance policies for applications and data within Dataverse
- Strong communication skills for collaborating across internal teams
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimise performance of complex workflows, application and data connections
