Application of the PRINCE 2 project management methodology

Our involvement is typically during the 'upstream' stages.  An early investment in quality and proven processes alleviates project risk.

Staff are trained in the PRINCE2 Project Management methodology.  PRINCE (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured method for effective project management.  The methodology originates from the UK's CCTA (Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency) and was developed in response to project management failings, initially in the IT&T domain.  PRINCE2 can be suitably tailored to meet the needs of projects, large or small.

Our project management and project planning skills, coupled with expertise in the systems and software engineering, IT&T and other specialist fields provide a necessary blend in meeting the demands of technically challenging projects, and in balancing the parameters of cost, schedule and quality.  Further, these skills have often been focused in the area of acquisition management.

Remote is a Defence panel member, providing Project Management services under a standing offer arrangement. 

It should be noted that whilst our staff have an excellent knowledge of process and respective domains of expertise, people and leadership skills within the company are also high. On a number of instances our consultants have turned around potentially failing projects, through intensive project management and exceptional people skills, the result being successfully delivered products and projects, plus major morale improvements, hence we now provide Project Rescue Services.

Activities undertaken include:

Development and validation of life cycle cost models

Provision of advice on the applicability of different cost estimating

Techniques, development of accurate cost models and cost estimating relationships, preparation and review of cost estimates, determination of the risk level inherent in cost estimates, presentation of estimates to independent reviewers and high-level decision-makers.
